Ohhh ohhhh another chance to miss Bandi! I get off work midnight that morning.... hmmm plenty of time to sleep... must make plans tommorow with current 'chauffer' hehe I'm sure they wouldnt mind meeting some DSM'rs at the track, wont be racing since their poor T25 wont hold more than 7lbs boost tho :(

Hmm actually shall harass friends now, omw to phone hehe will hopefully know w/i the hour... what times do you ppl usually show up? I know you meet around the Stand right? Just curious I dont remember the times... I was thinking its fairly early ~6ish no?

sherrie91nt
06-24-2002, 08:37 PM
Most of us get there btwn 3:30-4:00 and we meet up on the top pits by the Budwieser sign, just north of the consession stand. Hopefully we will see you there.

tekky
06-24-2002, 08:40 PM
Ack, if its that early tis a nogo, friends all work till atleast 5 usually 6, so would be almost 7 prolly just to make it out there.... *grumble* I always forget the minor details! O-well will check with them anyways.

sherrie91nt
06-24-2002, 09:09 PM
You should come out even if you can't make it till 6 cause we will be there till around 9pm...:D

tekky
06-24-2002, 09:12 PM
Hehe, am trying :) left msgs with my dsm friends, my friend that owned a 3000gt (albeit for only a week) and another friend who for some strange reason drives a camero... well did.. till he lost his license heh, hopefully one of them will actually get their msgs and call me back sometime before 6am (when I go home finally)

If nothing else... maybe I can borrow my friends LeBaron and roll out there in the convertible :) woohoo would be fun... cept the radio sucks and its slow but hey... its a nice enough ride :)

Van
06-24-2002, 09:55 PM
I am planning on being there.

tekky
06-24-2002, 10:24 PM
Hoping for better luck tommorow hehe, considering its almost (40 mins is close when you work 12hr shifts ;) heh) to 11 that nobody is going to call me tonight... welps maybe that means I'll have more good news than just a 6hr work day tommorow! ;)

LMAO - I was dumb enough to fill the tank today with 91 so I have to try and burn off about 3/4 of a tank so I can dump a full tank of 101 in for race day... Shit... Thats about 180 miles I'm gonna have to drive... It sucks having decent gas mileage... grrr...

Oh, and by the way, I need to know what fuse to pull to reset my ECU so that I can get instant gains from the 101...

ANd lookin forward to seeing you all there!!! And yes, I got paid for the first time at my new job!! yay me!!! and thank you all for paying taxes!!

;)

Hah, to reset the ECU... If I remember right one of the fuses under the dash is labeled ECU check the cover... I might be totaling confusing 2 fuses here, but I know I've seen the label, if nothing else, battery neg. always works ;) (i'd check the block under hood also for the label before doing the battery thing tho of course someone else prolly knows for sure and will silence my ignorance :P)

Uhm, you're welcome but every 5th paycheck comes out of my own pocket so my taxes dun help ya much Quinn ;) damn the goverment and their cheap pocket books!

You actually want to run the tank pretty empty and put just 5 gallons or so of the 101 in there. Remember, a full tank equals more weight and slower times. Dumb ass............ :p

There is a yellow fuse holder under the hood on the passengers side. Its right by your bov. pull that for 30 seconds then push it back in. This doesn't come all the way out so don't keep on pullin.

Welps, after 2 days of phone calls, and I guess a new record of nobody every being home... I resort to wit and charm for a ride... anyone in/abouts Aurora want some gas money and a bite to eat tommorow? Hehe, not sure where the wit and charm comes in, but I'm sure it will show itself eventually. I'm right off Airport and 6th Ave at Buckley AFB.... *still hoping to see some new faces this weekend* (starts tommorow for me heh)

and yes, I now fall under the classification of:
a deprived and desperate DSM'r

If you are going to change crank or rod bearings on a 2g...

You MUST measure each journal. It is possible that each bearing could be a different size.

In addition, the bearing saddles in the block must be measured if you are doing crank bearings.

Anyone who sells you bearings without doing the measurements (or asking for block/crank codes) doesn't know what they are doing.

Aye, I got the sizing table, but its starting to sound like it cant be done in 1 day unless getting started early due to sizing/ordering hoping they're instock etc etc... will get some quotes I guess and see what kinda money I'm looking at shopwise :/

Well, finally raced the car, and had a great time!!!

COngrats to Vern for his times... I'll let him post them, but he did WELL!!!

My first race was against a 71 Corvette, and I was victorious, by a large margin... The funny thing is that Dave was riding with me and the driver of the Vette was laughing at us... Too bad he got beat by 2 whole seconds....

R/T .894
60 2.530
330 6.470
1/8 9.660
MPH 77.78
1000 12.373
1/4 14.695
MPH 97.50

Well, I really messed up my launch, but Dave gave me some pointers and eventually I got it down to this against a 1G Eclipse (He got beat pretty hard too....)

R/T .664
60 1.989
330 5.773
1/8 8.994
MPH 77.08
1000 11.754
1/4 14.114
MPH 95.89

303Racing

NICE!

My best ended up being:

r/t .755
60' 2.378 Yes, my 60' sucks ass!
330 6.302
1/8 9.475
MPH 80.12
1000 12.184
1/4 14.4
MPH 99.84

On only 15psi :) I was hitting 15lbs in 2nd but it would only go up to 13-14lbs in third and fourth???

But my trap speed was always 99-100, I just wish I could get my car to hook up better!

Corrections will be made and I will try again...:D

06-26-2002, 11:12 PM
Nice times everyone!!

Van
06-26-2002, 11:16 PM
Oh yeah...:D

Got nine runs in, of those, six were 12 sec times with 112 and 113 traps.

The other three runs someone oughtta slap me, hehe.

Best ET run was 12.291 @ 113.20

Best MPH run was 12.737 @ 113.71

And in between I ran a 12.475 @ 112.07

All in all a good night. ;) I'll start other threads about the fuel and what not.

Vern are you going to compete at IDRC? If so I'm going up to the track Friday July 5th for some more practice before the 7th.

Gotta break in this new clutch somehow ;)

I never even thought about it. Tell me about it, because I don't really know what it is.

I have the Bandi 2002 season brochure here, but its info is minimal. So please explain what this is.

Bracket racing, eww, nah.
Hell, I'm pretty inconsistent, you know that.

I'm definitely more into just balls to the wall heads up fun at this point.:p

Bracket racing isn't that bad,geez.

My runs tonite were -

#1 - 13.92@98 (car was still hot)
#2 - 13.72@98 (ok this is more like it)

Eliminations
#3 - 13.75@93 (I had this Viper by over 5 car lengths and had to let up)
#4 - 13.63@99 (broke out on a 13.65 dial)
:(

When the car is cooled down and allowed to rest a bit between runs I can keep my runs within a tenth,I just need to work on my reaction time.

You're talking about the 5th E.T Series...

I'm asking about the IDRC heads up racing.
What are the differences between this and the normal T&T racing?

Can I rent a helmet still?
Any cash pay-out for placing?
What are our odds?
What "class" would we be in?
What about weight? If I decided to run, might it be a good idea to remove the front and rear bumpers? Interior?

All you talking about this kind of has me jonesing about it.
I'm basically an IDRC moron... I never paid any attention to it.

Read the rules for the "Street 8" heads up class.

Serious players in the class run 9's.

I think I'll just see you guys at the next T&T that I make it to.

Good luck to anybody running!
