Ok, my Greddy EGT was working fine for over a month, then went kaput. Backlighting still works, but gauge will not produce a reading. Measured the resistnance at the connector in the engine bay and got in the 20's, but measured at the connector that connects to the back of the gauge and got 5.X for the red wire, 2.x for the white (on the 2 prong connector). Is this normal?

Now, this happened before when it was hooked up to my Greddy TT, so my buddy re-wired it to not run off the TT, but then it went out again. So he messed w/ the 4 prong connector that connects to the back of the gauge, and it worked for like a week before going out yet again. Now I'm living in another state for the time being and have no idea how to get this POS fixed right.

If it matters, my cig lighter doesn't get power anymore, nor lighting. It worked when I was back home, but now nothing. Could this be related to the EGT not reading? Again, I'm getting power and lighting, but no reading. I'm willing to pay someone to fix these problems for me so let me know; I'm availalbe anytime today, tomorrow, or sunday night, then on nights and weekends.

Thanks,

Travis

I replaced the cig lighter fuse, and the ECM-4 fuse, couldn't find any other fuses under there that would have anything to do w/ the gauge or lighter. Still no luck.

Any ideas?? Fuse box in engine bay?? Loose wire??? I think I'm gonna drive my car off a cliff...

Where do you live? If you aren't in any hurry I could set up a time to come help you out later next week if you dont get it fixed.

Try the one you connected the EGT to

Well, the EGT has power b/c it lights up, but I'm not sure if the orange (ignition) wire might be messed up, nor do I know what the ingnition wire does for this gauge. I would think if the ignition fuse was blown, then the car wouldn't start or windows wouldn't work, right?

It's not a fuse its your control box there are pins at the end of those wires that tap into the control box, I guarantee one of those wires came loose and thats why your not getting a reading. I have the same gauge and I had the same problems when I first bought my car, I stuck the pins back in place and used some really sticky 3m tape to hold the pins in place. They havent come loose since.

Just so nobody thinks this is still needing help...
Travis and I tore apart the wiring for the EGT and cig lighter, and fixed... seems the cig lighter had been put back together wrong from a previous wiring thing... was just shorting out, which killed the EGT cause it was on the same circuit... rewired EGT and rebuilt Cig lighter.... all is well :)
