Oke... I shant be going back to this shop again... Called the shop that awas doing my bearings to check on an earlier work date... they said ahve it here before Friday morning... thursday night... $54 later, car is towed to shop... ~3pm next day get a call... "yup we have to pull the motor for those bearings" You're looking at ~1500 with the other work....
so I now have 2 choices (atleast I like to think that anyways...)
option 1) A guy here in SE Aurora has a garage I may be able to use... and a guy in FT C offered to help me with the wrench work for doing the bearings and other work myself...
option 2) Same guy with same garage with same help.. JDM 6bolt engine swap.... gonna confirm pricing on that... then just part out whats good stilll (which should be 99% of the motor) or sell the whole block
my concerns are, if I do the bearings... should I pull the crank and get it resurffaced reguardless or just do the bearings?
if the swap seems a better deal... I will still be using my 98 ECU right? (want to maintain upgradability to DSMlink later on...) And if I do the swap, any suggested work right off the bat before dropping it in? Was suggested Balance shaft removal so far that I can remember...
TIA
