Ok As most of you know i blew something on my motor. I still have yet to find out what but oh well i am building it so i don't care what was wrong with it.

Pretty much this thread is to see what you all think of my list of thing i want to do to my motor. (hints or clues as to what i should or shouldn't do are welcome here)

Ok Pretty much i will work from the crank up.

-Balence shaft belt is being eliminated
-All rod bearing and main bearing are being replaced and machined
-Arp head and main studs
-Crower Rods
-Extreme Technologies/ Ross Pistons (8.5:1 compression)
-Ross Rings
-Stock mitsu head gasket treated with copper spray
-Fully ported intake and exhaust ports
-Most likely keeping the stock valves and springs and valvetrain
-Crower Cams

From there my mods are

-Apexi Safc - new
-Msd dis 2- new
-Magnacore 8.5mm plug wires- new
-Big ported and clipped 16g turbo
-ported 2g exhaust manifold- new
-Ported o2 housing- new
-2.5 in buschur racing turbo back exhaust w/a dynomax muffler- new
-Stock side mount
-2g throttle body elbow- new
-Custom upper i/c pipe stock 1g b.o.v.
I think that is all...-- all these things already have been or will be on my car when i am done with the motor

Then electronics-
I am going to see what ll i can do with the stock maf but most likely i will be getting a dataloger and a new manual boost controller.

Plans after motor and everything is done and tuned are..
-4 bolt rear end!!!!!!
-Buschur F.m.i.c. kit with upper i/c pipe
-Denso 660cc fuel injectors
-Warboro 255lph
-Sx fuel pressure regulator
-Nitrous Express Gen 2 kit- From Extreme Technologies
-Then a bigger turbo I think i am going to get the mach v motorsports rocket sigma or delta. but that won't be for a while

Tell me what you all think! I should be able to have all of this done by 2003 racing season but, i could have a few minor delay if there are problems.
Thank you in advance..

Swap the stock head gasket for the 3 layer metal Mitsu head gasket. I'm sure that Dave or Hal have the part number. I believe it's the Rally Art part.

Other then that you think that looks good?

MMHG is good. Umm, hmm. :D 29 psi with ARP's...

I wouldn't remove the BS's unless you add the Buschur (Fisher) crank dampener. Flame me all you want, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I'd use Mitsu rings.

HKS cams... again flame all you want, but that's my story... Even Crower employees have stated their machines are not correct for our cams. One or two degrees off will matter.

I would make the cat-back 3", if not the whole system. Depends on your goals. 2.5" dp/tp to a 3" cat-back here.

IRC's fmics are cheaper than Buschur's.

Datalogger is most important. Do not pass go and do not collect $200 without one. They are for more than just racing.

660's are way too big with a 16g'ish turbo. Which is my next question, why buy or even plan on buying more than one? Just line out your goals and do the MAIN set-up, once.

Don't get anything from Mach V unless no one else has it. They are more expensive and sell everyone else's parts, hehe.
ie: those turbo's you mentioned, That's what I have, go to the source! They are Extreme Turbo & DSM Performance and eliminate ANY potential issues with a lame, over-priced, middleman.

BTW- you might wanna take a REAL good look at Forced Performance's FP-30 series of turbos, BEFORE you spend ANY cash for ANY turbo. These will be THE turbo to have, VERY soon. ;)

Don't bother with the Magnecores either, those things fail more than they work. Also I agree with Van,just go with the HKS cams if you're going to stick with a smaller turbo.

Here are the prices i can get for these parts. Tell me if anyone can get better deals before i buy them.

-Ross pistons-$540.00
-Ross Rings-$120.00
-Crower Rods-$675.00
-Arp Head Studs-$92.00
-Hks 272 Cams-$560.00
-Engine overhaul gasket-$210.00

Which totals $2,197.00

I also need to know what else do i need to get the block done besides these parts-

Such as bearings or what else?????

If you take the pistons, rings, rods, crank and block to western they will assemble it and get the bearings for you.

Good idea with the HKS cams,I hear they have minimal wear compared to the Web cams.

Yes, definately HKS cams. Stay away from all the others. Had the 264s on our '90 for for quite a while, and no problems whatsoever.
