1/4 NPT tap needed

Anybody in the Springs, for starters, have a 1/4 NPT tap and handle I can use for an hour or so. To tap an exhaust manifold for an EGT probe

you can get that tap for 3$ at ace...

tell you what James... you buy me a 1/4 NPT tape up there at ACE hardware, and I'll drive up, pick it up, buy you a $20.00 lunch and call it a good deal...

(ACE says they don't sell NPT (Pipe thread) taps, my best price so far is greinger, $28.00)

but if it's NOT the right tap, I won't pay you, you give me $5.00 for gas and You buy Me a $20.00 lunch.... sound like a deal there son...

Ive got one, but I am quite a bit farther north than James. I also got mine at ACE, so whomever you talked to was full of crap bro, it was like 7 bucks. Most of the taps they had were NPT......

Well, my apologies to all parties concerned...

You where both absolutly correct. I just called the ACE in my neighborhood again, and this time got someone who really worked in the tools dept...

He has 4 of them, at $5.00 each. I'll get it in the morning...

LOL.... no apologies necessary, I was just letting you know so you didn't spend 4 times as much for it. The person you talked to probably didn't even know what NPT meant. ;)

hey dont worry about it.... every time i need a tap i just buy another one... i have like 5 1/4" npt taps.... i just keep misplacing them and then they turn up...
