I can't seem to find a spot to submit times for your timespage. Where exactly do I send the info to or click on to do this?

I'm not from Colorado, but the local track here is named "Rocky Mountain Raceway" and this is "Rocky Mountain DSM" so I figured it would be an appropriate place to post some times.

If you send the timeslip as a jpg to dave@rmdsm.org I'll add it in for you. The timeslip submission page hasn't been completed yet.

Nevermind,I see it's Utah. What's the elevation of the strip there?

4600'? I thought you guys were a little higher than we were. Guess not. Do you know a girl named Kim? (I think it is) that was running a 16G last year but now has a 20G'd 2G? She posted a few times to the DSMLink list with some low 12's but was having problems. I was just curious if she got into the 11's. She runs down there at that track and is part of Utah DSM I guess.

Now that the times are updated on the page, I'm a little embarrassed about my MPH. I wish I hadn't of missed 4th on that run. The run before that was 13.5@104 which is my best MPH. With that MPH I have there now it looks like I'm a hell of a driver. :)

Kim got rid of the 16g and the 20g and got a green. She dropped half a second with the green.

I had heard in the past that clipped turbos don't work well at altitude. I don't know why that would be, but swapping from the 20g w/~20 deg clip to the green dropped her from low 13's to mid 12's. I don't think the green is supposed to flow that much more air than a 20g.

A set of cams and maybe a 1g tb should get her down to the low 12's / high elevens. The 2g's are supposed to respond really well to cams.

IMO, clipping is a bad thing. It is supposed to help spool at our elevations I heard, but think about it. When a turbo is made it is tested and engineered perfectly. Then someone goes in there and clips it and takes all the engineering out of it. They don't test it again and balance it and all that stuff. This is just my opinion from what I've understood about clipping.

She had a 20 degree clip? Several members recently have been getting the FP 20G with a 15 degree clip. I wonder if that was a difference. Hmm? Maybe someone has something to say about this because it is over my head. :)

The Green is a very nice turbo. I think I've heard that it does out flow the 20G by a little bit too. I can't wait till I get mine. Of course I have a few things I still have to put in place, FMIC, Fuel pump and bigger injectors. I'm still stock in all those departments, but maxing all of them out. :)

I have the 16G ported and clipped 10 deg. from Extreme Motorsports. It looks like a BIG 16G. They test and balance them at 100,000 rpm. Works great except for the more turbo lag especially if you have an A/T. Which can be dealt with. Email me for info un upgrading your A/T's. Manuals should be just fine I think.

do you know bobbi out there? i know she's on sw.dsm. salt lake area.

clipping is obviously taking off parts of the turbine fins. becuase at higher rpms more exhuast is trying to get through. but it can't becuase of the turbine blades. so if you trim them off slightly, you can get the gas past it which will allow the turbo to continue to maintain a higher rpm and not run out of breath so to speak. but it also takes longer to spool becuase there isn't alot of blade left for low rpm spooling. or you just get a larger exhuast housing and turbine, get the same effect, but the turbo is matched for that.

anyone else care to add something.

Nope. She's not active in our group if she lives around here. I haven't ever heard the name before.

Geez, what a small world!! Yeah, I was gonna post some logs with the green on the DSMLink board to compare the big16, 20g and now the green.

I would have to say the clip was just to big for this elevation. I was only able to get 23psi out of that clipped 20g no matter what I did. I even upgraded my spring in my HKS external wastegate, that didn't do anything. Soooo, I bought a green and am now in love with it :)
