He's a wicked 1/4 mile driver.

He was using my laptop for data logging when he made his 12.0 pass. So, I've been studying his log file and comparing it to mine.

Here are some interesting points:

Intake temps from the start of 3rd until the end:

Greg: 74 - 112 (remove head light)
Mine: 83 - 105 (relocated MAS)

Greg makes a LOT more boost on the line than I do. He is flowing
60% more air when he launches.

His turbo spools hella fast.

1/2 shift: Him: .93 seconds, me: 1.35
2/3 shift: Him: .37 seconds, me: .95

At 2 seconds into the run, I am 7300 rpms in first on my way to a
peak of 8k rpms while Greg is beyond his peak of 7700 and actually just completing his second gear shift. I don't complete the same shift until 3.19 seconds into the run vs his 2.31 seconds.

Can you say "getting killed on the line" :)

He is .3 seconds quicker from 5500 to 7000 in 3rd and gains 1 mph more than I do in that time frame.

Other things that I can see are differences in throttle between shifts and he a LOT smoother with the clutch. I don't know if it's because he has a 2600 vs my 2900... but the "porposing" after each shift is killing me.

When Greg gets his turbo back and is able to hold boost, I predict
a LOW 11 off the bottle based on what his log shows.

Next time I race my car would you do me a favor and dissect my log file the same way you did Greg's? lol... You could make money doing that...

And where's my keyfile? LOL...

Ha Ha!

I take that as a compliment, especially from the great one himself.

As far as driving is concerned, when I goto the track I go there to run the shit out of my car. I have been driving the car everyday for the past 3 1/2 years, except when it is parked in the garage or the side of the house (very often lately), and I thought that I had the car mastered until I went to the track last time. It is definately getting much harder to drive.

That's more of a reason to let me drive your car Hal, see what that bad-boy is really capable of. I know it is a better built machine than mine, definately a lot more intuition into go-fast features than mine.

As far as low 11 second passes go, I do believe that is definately possible if I can make and hold 28-30 psi, this 22 lb bullshit just isn't cutting it. My goal is sub 11.5 before I use the assistance of nitrous which should boost me into the high 10's.

I'm getting the turbo back next Tuesday, with a new and improved thrust bearing and a complete rebuild. Hopefully it will stay together this time.

I fired mine back up today. Tomorrow I'll button it up.

Saturday, I'll do a drive test and re-torque the head studs.

Sunday, I am going to test spool using n2o. I'll try 50/75/100 shots that shut down at 22 psi.

Beyond that, we'll see how it goes wednesday.

When Davids Red gets rebuilt, I'll have Robert put an unclipped wheel on it and see how that works.

This season is just going to be trying different things... and finding the right combination.

Getting closer.
