We'll i had the longest weekend from hell!!

So it starts out friday at club clash.
i ran a 13.80 @106- i was happy with the trap but i wanted to baby it out of the whole (2.1) 60' time.

then 13.2@105
the a 24.09 @12 or so - snapped a rear axel

So i get a new axel (had one at my house and go out to make sure it works ok, end up racing a mustang, i shift to 3rd and broke a shift fork in the tranny. So i putt it home again, and pull the tranny. Then saturday i go up and watch the races, and get pissed because my car wasn't there, so i came home and put my other tranny in. Went out and tuned it slightly, went to the track today and ran a 13.2@109.98 and the a 12.71@108.99 i hit the rev limiter in 3rd (due to not haveing a tack) btw- motors sound cool at 8000 rpm. hehe NOT REALLY!

So new time for me 12.71@108.9 hitting the rex limiter in 3rd and with a 1.9 60' time!!

Congrats on the new time and the quick fix-it job.

My car ran a 13.38 and a 13.43 on Friday night and the first two runs at Sunday were a 13.39 and a 13.40 both at 101mph and I made it into the 4th round but I stuttered a shift and dropped a half second and lost.:( So the car was running great but unfortunatly I wasn't.

Awesome Mark. I take it that was with the nitrous? You might want to spend some time putting in a 4 bolt rear end in that car. Then you won't have to worry about axles snapping.

Also you need to find out why your tach isn't working. Does the AFC see the rpm signal? If not don't race anymore till you fix it.

BTW 8000 rpms probly sounds nice but mines goin to 8500

congrats on the time. very nice.:D

i think the speedo and tach use the same sender in the tranny, right? could be a wire shorted or got cut. yeah, do what dave said.

No they are separate. The Tranny is an acutal cable. The Tach comes off the coil packs and or the CAS.

Thanks guys.

Yes the afc rev- works, thats what i was using as my tach, so i think it is something in the console. Anyways the speedo cable snapped, because me being the dumbass i am decide to forget to take that off when i swapped tranny's. Oh well i'll have that fixed. The tach need to be figured out also, i think i might find the wire from the cas or coil and run it to the tach, that might work. Everything else seems fine, my car still is very untuned and needs a lot of atttection still but i am happy with that time thus far!!

My rear diff, has been bad for awhile now, and i just need to scrap a few more dollars together and get a 4 bolt, I found one and just need the cash to get it. On the 4 bolt what all do i need to change, hubs and diff, and axels correct?

Mark.

P.S. I have an awsome story to tell everyone about me andrew AND DAVE BUSCHUR!!! HE IS COOL AS HELL! same with john shepard. Talked to the both of them. very nice guys.

i'll finish that later.

Ok well the story begins at around 8:30 saturday morning. Me and andrew arrive at bandi and begin walking around insearc of FAST DSM'S anywho we found buschur RACING's car and then we see 2 guys, so i said, "MAN this is way better in real life" he says, "ya hopefully i can put on a show for ya'll this weekend" So bla bla bla i standing there drooling ans i ask so are you dave? HE goes ,"yea thats me" I just kinda had a brain laps when he said that, it was funny he sorta laughted but anyways, we talk and screw around for a little bit, and we'll they call him for the first round of qualifing, and he goes down and does a burn out. Blew the head gasket (as he found out later) But as the timing worked out perfectly, me and andrew walk back up there after he has the head off, and he said where could i go to get a head gasket. I said like an oem one. He replies yes, and i called qualitly mitsu and ordered one over the phone with his credit card (thinking to myself the whole time, davvvveeee buschur credit cars mmmmmmm) then i also thought shouldn't this be the other way around.. lol so anyways he says well would it be worth 100 bucks for you guys to go pick it up for me. WE basically sequentially said HELL YES!!!!! and then we went picked up the head gasket from mitsu and watched him put it back on. Then he went a ran an 8.2 on the head gasket that i held in my hands!! hehe.. But thats my story lol... kinda lame i suppose!! Dave is a really nice guy i highly reccommand bucshur racing TO EVERYONE. Esp.. now that i have a dealer account with them. lol

Oh dave's setup is JE 9:1 pistons (thats right the same as mine)
crower rods, and a 4g63 crank!! I was excites to see that !! lol

I think I saw you Saturday Mark. I was standing there too when Dave discovered he had blown the head gasket. I jumped on my cell phone and tried calling Dave and Hal to see if they had an extra one. I didn't get ahold of them until later that day, but it didn't matter anyway because they didn't have an extra one. I had one sitting on the shelf at home (actually it's Art's) but I live down in the Springs so it wouldn't have been a quick trip to get it.

I'm just glad the local DSM'ers were able to help him out. I love the DSM community, always willing to help each other out.......Unlike the Honda crowd. I didn't see anyone offer up their tranny when Brent Levistad left his on the track in pieces!! :D

wait a minute here. patrick you were gonna offer out my gasket to buschur? MY gasket! you better have swung a deal so that he replaces it with a BR20G.:D i wouldn't have cared as long as i got one back......i'm gonna need it.:p

when i go home i swing down to extreme to see if they have any used parts for sale, anything laying around, looking for some help in the shop for a few weeks since i have ADD and get bored on vacation real fast.:p

so one day i'm in there b.s.ing with the guys and i ask if i could look at sean's setup. we go back in the garage, actually it was a huge bay with 10 lifts:eek: , mostly it was the guys cars that worked there that day. must be nice. so i'm checkng out the car asking questions and sean comes over, i say hi and introduce myself and my shitty 2g gst, cause thats what people do when they meet someone new and its polite. this fucker doesn't say anything. and when i do ask questions he responds like i should have known the what the injector pulse width and what size fogger he was running. like i wanna sit around all day and research his car. he is an arrogant SOB for sure. then when i asked if they could fix an exhaust leak on a cat-back i bought from them, they were gonna charge me. damn that. no wonder jeff hill left extreme, i would have too.

but thats my story and i'm sticking to it.:p

So what were the fastest cars, and times, out there?? On a local message board out here someone posted that John Seppard ran a 9.1, but I'd assume more like a 10.1 since he was recently running mid-high nines out on one of the coasts.
