The parts on are their way to put something like this together:

coil on plug (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NewEngDSM/files/Coil%20on%20Plug.JPG)

Really cleans things up, and no more plug wires to burn.

Spengler had the same thing for his GSX. Much easier and looked really nice.

Well... if this works, I'll be able to do it for under $15 a coil, or $60 for the total project.

I got the coils for about $12 ea and I have the metal for the base plate already in the scrap pile.

Assorted wire, screws, etc, I should already have as well.

The most time consuming task will be build the coil "base" plate.

Cheaper than a set of wires :)

Speaking of Spengler.. Is he still around? I was really looking forward to seeing his beast run!

Rob is still around....unfortunately, his GSX isn't. He parted everything out a couple of weeks ago. But we may still be able to see how it runs someday because he sold just about everything to the same guy, out of state though.

But he's not done with modding cars. Rob has another project in mind, but it's still a secret at this point. Maybe he will share it with everyone if he reads this.

So will you be offering to put together kits once you got the cover plate figured out? If so I'm interested :P I'm also looking for someone with a plasma cutter to do some custom stuff in the future, so does anyone on the list have one by any chance? Or know of one available?

The guy has a full machine shop out here... He can do anything you want, even cut an engine block if you want. Talk to Powis (he remembers the guy's number) and he can set you up.

HAL -. can you post further developments (ie. product materiels and part #'s if you can) on this coil project? I know I'd prefer this over having to replace my coil pack. As I was planning on doing in the first place. thx!

So Hal;

Did you not see my question about where you found the coils, or would you prefer not to say?
