Day before New Years.. I was cruisin' down on Bijou and a cop yanks me over because my Apexi N1 is "defening".. what the hell is that about? I know theres no way in hell I'm as loud as some of those Hondas around town with glasspacks and straight pipes. What gives? He nailed me with a ticket too.. wouldn't be worth arguing because his ordinance basically gives him the say in whats loud and what isnt. What a load. Oh and also.. I was at Tinsletown last week and someone with a red 'clipse was parked near me.. funny how we attract others :) btw, I've got a green '96 RS, new to the DSM world, anyone around?

Welcome to the club. I am here in the Springs also. There are a few of us here that live in the Springs, but not many. Glad to have another here. See ya around.

Now if they give you a ticket for loud exhaust - is it one of those things you have to try and fix or you get another ticket? Or do they just let you go and if you don't change the exhaust they don't care, but you might get another ticket if another officer thinks it is too loud?

Patrick got a ticket for his exhaust a while ago...Not ticketed for suspension or clear tails though... ...I forget if he tried to fight it or not. He was gonna, but i dont remember if he did. Either way he had to pay the ticket, and we never swapped a stock exhaust on to show it was fixed.
But he'll get on later today and probably share his words of wisdom:D .

In the last couple of years, I've gotten 2 tickets for my exhaust, both in the downtown area (Nevada, Bijou, Tejon). Because they have always had such a problem with cruising there, they are MUCH more anal about giving tickets for crap like that. The cop even said "normally I wouldn't give you a ticket for this, but they are making us crack down lately." Then he wanted to BS with me for 15 minutes about all the stuff I'd done to my car! :D

The first exhaust ticket I got 2 years ago I just paid. The second ticket I got a couple of months ago and I went to court for. The ticket was for $55. The judge dropped it to $35, but added $10 for court costs and $10 for processing, so it came out the same except I wasted an afternoon sitting in court!! :p

I always like to park next to other DSM's given the chance. But most of the time whenever I go anywhere in town I'm cruising 2 or 3 cars deep anyway! (Dallas, Mandy, Aaron, Jay) :D

I went to see a movie at Tinseltown last Friday afternoon. Was it me you saw??

LoL.. thanks for the welcome.. but anyway, I guess I just say forget it and pay the fee, slap in the silencer, and go about my business. Then again, it could have been because I was downtown.. I know I've driven by a few cops out here on the northeast side of town and they haven't done a thing. It's probably that whole attitude of being downtown and cops thinking they're catching "street racers."

I think it's just up to the cop if he wants to enforce the law, they don't seem as bad up here i Denver.

My roomate with his blown Type R and Thermal 3inch is pretty freakin' loud and he's been pulled over a couple times and the exhaust was never mentioned,he just got warnings for his speed and was on his way.
Sometimes I think younger people get the shaft for just being young.
I've been pulled over and the cop is thinking a younger person is driving the car and then when they see I'm over 30 they do seem to change their atitude a bit. I guess the whole TFATF thing has given imports a bad name obviously.
