i was at a dealership the other day and ran into a couple of good deals. first was a 98' eclipse rs, and a 99' rs. the guy said they had bad motors but it souned like the valves needed to be adjusted. anyway i can pick up the 98' for $2500 and the 99' for $3500. the 98' has 65,000 miles and the 99 has 47.000miles. which one should i get and are they hard to boost.i want a driveway full of asskickers.

Well, if you want something that will run under 13's that isn't it. You COULD buy the cheap one, ditch the 420A and it's transmission and do a AWD conversion. You're looking at about $3000 for the engine buildup or so, $3800 for a killer awd transmission from TRE, and other small things you'll need... all in all you'd have a total investment of about $14000 or so and $2500 in the body. Not a horribly bad way to go if you're gonna redo everything, but unless you want to buy wiring harnesses and rewire and redo the whole car I wouldn't get your hopes up on making a NT "neon in sheeps clothing" into a "ass kicker"

Spend the money on your GSX. You can make it faster for cheaper. Trust me.

Just buy a turbo/AWD car in the first place and save money and headaches.

Just remember that the RS stands for REAL SLOW.

And if it's a GS then it's "generally slow".

Ford Probes had the SE model which meant "Slow Edition".

You need to stop worrying so much about making MORE power (youre already making TOO damn much!!!) and worry about TRACTION. If your car had more traction it would be just EVIL. Get some wheelie bars or something.

As it is _I_ can beat you in a 1/4 mile race.

well i'll be in NY most of the month, but ill make a trip to ohio to whip your assess.:p

I'm definately planning on a trip to ohio, the only thing holding be back right now is my head torque plate :)
