Ok, so I went down to consider buying one... MileHigh has NONE with a $6000 markup if you want one (7 person waiting list, and only 3 are shipped to a dealer per month) and their sales people were RUDE AS FUCK. Quality had one in black with a $5000 markup, and I called Skyline they said they didn't have any but it was $8000 over MSRP... that's $38,000 for a fucking Evo.... First off MileHigh sales people can suck my wang... secondly, I'm not sure if I wanna get one with those ridiculous markups, the place in the springs that Patrick, Dallas, and I went to had no markup over MSRP...

The STi wont have any mark up at Heuberger :p
Or you could look into an SRT-4:D

Don't want subi, and I wanted somethin to play around with for rally, not a cute little wind up toy like an SRT-4

Interestingly enough an EVO8 in the hands of a DSM shop just posted a 12.59 @ 107.69mph with a 1.72 60ft.

They only had the car eight days, hehe. Yep, that's a 4G63T in there.

It's already dynoed an SAE corrected 298.4 HP with a few of the right mods.

By the time the STi gets here, they'll be sucking Evolution exhaust for quite awhile and then some. Hmmmm, 4G63T and AWD will eat the SRT-4, but wait we already know that.

I want an Evolution, so anybody want to buy a nut? It's used, but it's in good shape. :D

as of right now the only way to testdrive the evo8(in cs) is to put a $5000 deposit on it. ya right. im sorry but why in the hell would you buy something you havent driven yet??

Easy answer,

#1. Because it's the 8th generation of the worlds best rally car
#2. We already know how a 4G63T and a B16G perform
#3. I don't want one that someone else drove
#4. They're DEAD sexy :)

yup, I agree with Jake....16g comes stock on the EVO8....that's pretty bad-ass if I do say so myself...:)

It's a TDO4 16g not the common upgrade TDO5 16g. Just a tad smaller but still good.

I think Id rather have the Peugot 206...I already have a 4G63.

Jake, if there was no markup at Satan in the Springs (just don't bring it there if you crack a fuel line) then why not buy it here? It is 3 am. Maybe you covered this idea already?

Is that the only defense you have, cuz it's weak! You owned a REAL neon until recently. And now that you FINALLY got an AWD, now you're all above us "neon" guys?? :p

mandy: I'm hoping they aren't sold, lots are alotted 3 per month according to Mitsu....

Dallas/Patrick: You're both Neon schmucks :)

Ya know, I've never seen you post here like you did there. ;)DSMtalk has had the same rules for two years. When people break them, we ban them it's all simple.

And just like on all of the other boards out there, when someone gets popped for not following the rules they post and complain about it on another board.

That $20 could go towards your Bandimere racing entrance fee, some VP C16 race fuel, a boost gauge, or whatever. For me, that $20 saved buys my kids some fucking milk to drink. :)

Oh gee, broke the rules, I told him not to be a smartass, if that is name calling the FUCKING WAH... and ya know what, if you sink a ton of money into a vehicle $20 goes a LONG way towards doing things right. Doing things the inexpensive way (read cheap) isn't always the best way and in my ever so humble opinion I believe it's the reason DSM's have a rep for always being on jack stands... any way it goes, feel free to defend them, it's your right, don't expect me to agree though :)

Oh, FYI, Mandy and I went to check out the Evo's in the springs today.....

#1. There is an $8,000 markup
#2. We are working on a 20-25% off deal with them for parts... So you springs people won't have to make the drive up to Denver for parts you really really need...

So...what are the bottlenecks/ restrictions/ weaklinks on this car because I'm not seeing too many right off the bat? It's already running 19psi, has a FMIC, large exhaust, you know the rest...

Don't be so sure of that last statement. In case you missed it earlier here's the 12.9sec vid on a just a Downpipe, 4 more psi(15psi), & slicks.

I know it wouldn't even be close on street tires, just don't take one from a roll unless you're the gambling type:cool:

I'd like an EVO too but that markup's a bitch. I'm going to check with an auto broker & see if they can order it directly from mitsu like we did my Wrangler Sport in '97. Saved me about $2000 of usless destination, dealer prep, & other misc crap! otherwise it's back to looking for an Audi S4:(

There are going to be the same type markups on the STi according to the dealer I talked to... but then again, who knows... Also your weak links on the Evo VIII are the exhaust (it's still pathetic) and the stupid plastic BoV, other than that it has CoP ignition, water injection, inverted shocks, front and optional rear strut braces from factory, killer brembo brakes and enkei 17" wheels in 235 series tires, FMIC, metal IC piping, the gayest throttle cable known to man (it comes out of the fw, goes AROUND the valve cover where it bolts to it once or twice, then into the TB) CF rear spoiler, recaro seats, momo steering wheel, a second gear shift that feels like you are rowing a boat, uhm.... adjustable HID lights from the cab, a weak little steering cooler like ours, a cute little TB, still uses a MDP sensor (ick) black coated heat shield for the turbo, a 16G turbo, Evo exhaust mani (imagine that) Evo O2 housing (ya don't say), 1 pusher fan, 1 puller, (to make room)... a purdy powder coated valve cover..... what am I missin here people?

Van
03-30-2003, 12:17 AM
Pruven replaced the stock fmic with a "better" one.

I believe Buschur and AMS already have exhausts available for them. The words "pathetic exhaust" were used by them when describing it too.

Yeah, I took the time on the showroom floor to actually crawl under the car for a while and check things out...needless to say the sales people thought I was a bit weird.
