So.. doing some browsing on here I see that a person with a Talon ESi with an automatic runs low 15's... is that actual time out here or is that corrected to sea level?

I'm trying to decide on an auto or a 5-speed. I know the 5-speed is faster but if the auto runs low 15's out here with minimal modifications... I'd rather go with the automatic.

We frown on "corrected times".

Also... then how fast do automatic GSX's and ESi's run with minimal modifications or stock out here?

He ran a low 15 with an automatic TSi. The ESi model is not turbo.

I think most people run mid 15's at this altitude with the manual GSX and TSi AWD. An automatic tranny would probably run a little slower because you lose that awesome launching ability, unless you get a stall convertor, which I would not consider "minimal modification."

I don't know why I thought an ESi was a turbo, I completley forgot about the TSi, brain farted and thought the ESi was turbo. I hope you people are not going to think I am retarted after (if/when) I buy my Eclipse or Talon and start to show up at test and tune's with you all. Oh well. Thanks for the information.

*in a deep confused slow voice*

deeeeuuuuu hey! how big is the supercharger on the GNX-T Laser?

LoL. The whole point of asking things here is so that you get the information you need.

HEY! I resent that! :D Remember though. Almost everyone was in that timeframe at one time or another. You have to be slow before you can go fast. I just broke out of the 14 second club this season (was stuck in the 15's season before). I guess having a SHIFTING transmission does help to faster times though.

GSX - Turbo All wheel drive 4G63T engine I'm sure you know this but for the morons only the 2nd Gen N/A's came with the 420A. All 1st Gen N/a cars had either the 4G63 or the 1.8 liter. But I think I've also seen some 2nd Gen N/A cars with the non turboed 2.0?
