What is the all around best cat back exhaust system on the market for a 1g DSM?

That is probably going to be a matter of opinion. A few things you'll want to take into consideration is sound, size, quality, and how straight it routes and how easy it is to put on... I believe a few of our 1G guys prefer the "do it yourself" method as posted on stevetek.com

Well, I think I've narrowed it down to these systems. Does anyone know which performs best as far as horsepower? Thermal R&D, Buschur Racing, Apexi N1, and Extreme Motorsports, all 3" and mandrel bent. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks,
Alex

Well I don't know much about the 1G's exhaust systems since I've never owned anything but 2G's... but as far as the systems on a 2G go here is the rundown

Thermal sounds great, but has too many sharp bends for my taste, I like a nice straight flow. Easilly mounted up.

Buschurs sounds aweful (I have one) but is straight as hell (which makes it a bitch to mount up)

Apex stuff has always been shit IMHO, but I suppose that's just me. For what you pay you could get something from a company that understands more about our cars.

Extreme's stuff has always been on the pricey side for my taste (and the majority of Buschur's too) but is usually pretty damn good stuff. I have ordered things from them and always recieved top knotch equipment. I've not seen their exhausts yet though.

You might also want to check with RoadRace Engineering and RNR

For a 1G ... Buschur. Great sound, great quality, straight design. Pretty much all systems on a 1G are easy to mount!

Why are you asking about catback system. Are you going to ditch your current system?

I'm getting rid of my custom made catback. I want something stainless and mandrel bent with a more straight design.
