I was driving home tonight and my front suspension sounds like it ISNT THERE AT ALL. I have brand new KYBs on all 4 tires. I poked my head down there and everything seemed to be connected still, but when I hit the SLIGHTEST bump in the road, and I mean SLIGHTEST, there's this sound of a CLUNK and it sounds like my front end is going to come off....

Ideas? Ryan? Karl? You put the damn things on, what do you think it could be Karl?

Edit - steering and braking are fine, just the suspension feels and sounds like its no longer there...

anyways, check the struts for oily buildup on them... maybe you blew them somehow..... none of the bolts came lose (that would be fucked up)

I have bad wheel bearings on my front wheels, so every time I hit bumps I hear a clunking noise too. You might wanna check yours.

I have no clue where the wheel bearings are... Care to elaborate?

And I doubt I blew them, I havent taken any jumps or hard dips. I dont want to rip my FMIC off. The worst they've seen is road construction...

You can't really visually check the wheel bearing itself. But if you jack up your car so the wheel is off the ground, try to move it. My wheels have a little play in them and that's what makes the clunking noise when I go over bumps.

Well, found out what was the problem. Some cunt went and unbolted my driver's side shock. THat or all 4 bolts managed to vibrate loose.

Thing is, for some reason the rear shocks on my Duster are blown too, all in the same night. What the FUCK?

what kind of ass is gonna take of a shock? not to say it couldn't happen.

are you just running shocks with stock springs?

Just ordered a new one (the one on there is FUCKED up) and am putting new ones on the Duster tomorrow afternoon. Dammit. If I didnt enjoy working on these cars I would actually have to murder someone. Oh wait...
