Never, never buy a car from anywhere they use salt. Do you think its possible for an axle to be rusted/welded to a knuckle? Well, it is.
Thanks to Jake I do have a new passenger front assembly in my car without a bad wheel bearing. But, the state of my car is currently unknown as the tie rod end seperated from the hub/knuckle assembly on C470, whilst the alternator was not powering the car. One battery will take you from Colorado Springs to the south side of Denver...
So last night was fantastic! I need more sacrifices to the car gods to bring luck to my wrenches, but you would think being dumped on with tranny fluid, hittin my thumb with yeller (biggest sledgehammer ever), and miscellaneous burns and cuts would be enough...
Hopefully everything will be fixed today and I'll have a properly aligned, tight-steering car come 5 pm..

Haha, that sure made me laugh! I know exactly how you feel!
I'm glad to hear that wheel hub was in good condition. At least it's doing someone some good now. It's been sitting in my garage for a month or more.

Nope, its not doing anyone any good. We pulled the axle out of my tranny and swapped the whole wheel assembly from Jake's car as we could not remove the axle. Hence the laying in tranny fluid as I didn't think to drain the tranny before we popped out the axle.

Oh wow! So you never did get the axle to come out of the hub? Honestly, I'm not surprised though after hearing the story of your sway bars, or exhaust bolts, or whatever you had to get torched for 5 hours to break loose! And the fact that I had to dremel the end links off your stock sway bars so I could put them on my car! :p

When I get home with the combination of the table vice, liquid wrench, parts washer, impact tools, the torch, and a really big f*kin hammer, that damn axle will come out!
However, we did use everything besides the parts washer yesterday for hours and hours to no avail.
FYI
I have a hydraulic press.

Jake, can you bring me the car at lunch? I absolutely despise having not having a vehicle, especially in a different city.

I called and they said they'd be done in half an hour. Its on the alignment rack now. They said they had to clean up threads on the tie rod (imagine that -- metal rubbing on threads for 60 miles wears em off eh?), but that's about it.
I'll see you by 5 Jake =)
Too bad the fastener place (Motorsports Supply) is only open from 7-5. I imagine we can hit Tool King though! ;)
Also, I should be out of training by noon tomorrow. Permanently. So I'll stop by and fill up with race gas around 1 and be prepared to run by 4 pm so I can get in a good amount of tuning runs with the 105!
