ok, so, i hit about 1.31 bar. stays on it till about 5700-6100, and then takes a straight dive to 1.17ish bar, then 1.1bar, then i shift, and it does the same thing over again. i turned the boost down to 1.23 bar, and it did the same thing, falling to 1.12, then 1.05, then 1.00 bar till shift. any ideas?
im running the hallman es MBC
FP big 28

welcome to the big28. mandy's did the same thing. we tryed everything to include wiring the WG shut. its the effect o elevation and a 6cm housing.

so whaty your telling me is that i cant do shit about it?
and on that note also, i forgot to ask this, at the same exact setting, after i left the track, i got on it, and it spiked 1.49 bar. this is what made me think maybe its a boost controller issue. hmmm. but, maybe just the big 28?

With a turbo like that you shouldnt be using a FMIC... Do you have one?

that seems really weird. i have a 16g which is similar size (but 7cm housing obviously) and it has no problem holding any boost to redline, even at 9500'. have you done a boost leak test? maybe you have a leak somewhere. just an idea.

it shouldnt be the MBC...
was your car doing this before? or did it just start?

i thought maybe a leak somewhere. but i talked with jake today, and apparently its something that happens with the big 28, hmm, how gay. o well, ill leave it on till i complete my supporting mods and then step up to a bigger set up.

I had the same thing going on too......thats pretty much all that turbo has! Mine would spike to about 22psi and settle at 17-19 psi. But turn the boost down and control was fine.

Mandy is posting low 13's (13.1 or 13.3 I can't remember) Consistant driving, she should be a damn bracket racer...
BT28
550cc's
Greddy FMIC (big)
DSMLink v1
CFDF Clutch
RRE resurfaced lightened flywheel
No WG actuator (IE the wastegate NEVER opens)
A grip of other mods but I think that answers your questions on how the power got to the ground. It's a gorgeous car, and she's a damn good driver. Big ups to the lady from TLS :)

thanks, i was just wondering......i have a 2g with 16g, 3" turbo back, hard int. piping 1g bov, but stock intercooler, clutch, and no fuel or fuel control. i ran a 14.3 at 97mph with 2.1 60's at 15 psi. it was my first day with the 16g at the track so i was keeping the boost down and walking off the line. i have a pump and logger on the way and hope to hit mid 13's around 100mph when i can turn the boost up:D think that sounds reasonable? it took me a long time to decide between the b28 and 16g. that's why i was wondering

we have very similar mods minus the clutch. what do your timeslips look like usually? at what psi? and gas? i am just trying to see how similar the times are between a 16g and big 28........good driving??? you don't like my 2.1 60.hahaha. i launched hard on my last run and had a 1.81, but missed third......still beat the turbo integra next to me.........i think one of his "type r" stickers was hanging off and causing excess drag though:rolleyes:

14.323@100.88mph. 2.52 60', ub3r ungodly traction, 19 psi, with the boost problem i described (i posted this right after i got home from the track). first time i have had the boost up that hi, and stayed on it hte whole way, this is why i just now noticed it.
yeah, like jake said, you need good traction, lol, like thatll ever happen.

sorry if that post was really confusing. i was just wondering what you run at bandi. i was saying the we have similar mods with the exception of turbo.........i just thought it would be an interesting comparison up at this altitude.

your not AWD are you? in your profile it says you are, that's why i got confused with the whole traction thing......i was making fun of myself for my 2.1 60's. which is not "good driving" for an AWD.

it shouldnt say awd, its a gst.
ive never ran at bandi actually. i know for a fact though the times would be faster. cant wait to see what she does at sea level though, 2 more weeks :)
