Not sure how practical this would be but isn't that just like say a 55 trim, if you can say that? It would not be that much more for that tthen the setup that AGP sells and I like the way the external is setup on the FP one better. I am just seeing what everything thought about practicality of this because it will be on a street driven car with stock internals, for the first year or so... thanks!!

Doug

PS Jake I am not sure about this one!!!

I say yeah baby!
Do it!

The FP30 series performs just as well on stock shortblocks. Spool-up is still great!
The key is that you will probably not be able to really use the high end of the turbo until after you do the rods, especially if you got the thin 2G rods in there.
Until then, just don't get really crazy on boost and keep your knock counts on the lower side. That is simple.

The custom SS Forced Performance turbine housing really rocks, the v-band clamps really clean things up and are very simple.

The FP30 series are dual purpose, great power to be had on the street yet more power, already proven at the track at the higher pressure ratios. Bandimere's altitude automatically creates higher pressure ratios for us/you guys. ;)
Street driven here with stock 1G shortblock running a FP3065 turbo.

The superior design of the updated turbine housing and the ball bearing CHRA make them a definate choice for a mid to heavy turbo. One can only hope that the new technology will branch out into the smaller turbo area as well.

I am just wondering because what kind of boost do you think could be ran with a stock motor? I am thinking that I might be able to run somewhere in the 20psi area... am I thinking wrong?

20PSI on a 3055 with the fuel mods to back it up should be fine, I wouldn't go much past that point though...

I was pushing 25 psi up there on pump gas with the stock head bolts and stock headgasket.

But, you got smaller headbolts and smaller rods. The real key is detonation, datalogger will hep you there. On the smaller headbolts and with a datalogger I'd say 24 psi. Hmmmm, but then again you got a higher compression ratio and probably don't have an IRC fmic, so I'd start out at 22 psi. Damn, 1g's do rule! ;)

FYI FP30X5 turbos are backordered for a while, I believe they have a shortage of compressor housings their waiting on
