high school drags

Went up to watch my brother at h.s. drags today... I let him race my GSX, he had fun but missed 2nd gear in the first round....

durring time trials he had a sweet.. but real hard launch, I think he side steped the clutch at 6000+ rpm, the car squated hard for a fraction of a second then got squirley and he raped the big V8 next to him....it was funny, the crowd gasped when he launched and people ran to the wall to watch :). It was his best run of the day, 14.6 with a 1.9 60ft

I thought it looked cool, but told him not to launch like that again.... the car is my daily driver :)


lots of DSM's up there... must have been 20 or more.... the only other "fast" one that I saw dialed a 14.5

I saw your brother race it was great I got a pic of that launch also. He sure did use that awd there it jumped something serious. He was my fav 1st gen racing he was damn good at driving it. I was mad when he lost at the elimanations. I wanted to talk to him but he was not by the car when I looked under the hood. Funny thing was I knew you were from rmdsm cuz I saw it when you bought it. Also how bout that 3000gt vr-4 and evo. They were quick when they had there good runs.

my brother drove alright considering its only like his 5th time driving the car, and first time racing it..... hes not used to the act2600 :)

I didn't do the time trials because I had to take off, but I was there until about 4-5pm. I hit:

13.575 @ 100.72

13.556 @ 100.58

both with 1.9 60's

Add another pound or two or three of boost and you may need a 2600lb clutch sometime since the 2100 won't last too long and they really start to slip if you have to run rounds back to back;I know since that was my first clutch back in '98 and only lasted one season and that was when I was only in the low 14s. My present 2600 is almost through it's 3rd season and I run it alot.


My car will generally stay under under 13.5 and I have still have the stock IC,original MAF and no ported parts but running 105 octane does help.

What do your AFC setting look like?
