I went to T&T last night for the first time with a TUNED 50 trim. I've come to the conclusion that my car is fast....my driving, not so fast. My best run was 13.35@freakin112mph. My other runs were similarly off balance with my ET and trap. I was having a lot of trouble off the line.....either it would bog down or spin the tires like crazy. My 60's were around 2.0-2.1 most of the night....I was running consistant 1.8's with my T-28. What should I try to launch better????? I'm sure my stock suspension isn't helping things at all but I also feel I can do better, just not sure how. What is a good strip/street tire? My traps are high enough for a mid 12......how can I get there?

sounds like you might want to look in to some good tires... and better suspension... this is on a fwd right? if so you are doing good right now... keep in mind that the temp of the track makes a difference... and warming up your tires might help a bit too... (lighter fluid is a racing trick that is illeagle in racing to gumm up the tires so they stick better... my friend used to do this on his 125 shifter kart methonal fule... it worked took about a second and a half off his lap time...)

Nope...I'm AWD, so I wouldn't have traction problems, but I do. One guy told me I did the craziest AWD launch he had ever seen. Seems to me like some stiffer suspension would probably do wonders. Can anyone recommend some stickier tires???? I'm running Michelin Pilots now and they seem to be sucking!

i think part of it may have to do with you 4(6?) puck clutch. you don't have much room to slip the clutch with that setup. i could be wrong but it's just an idea.....oh ya i was the guy that said it was a crazy launch. it was the most wheelspin i have seen from an AWD before

stutterbox w/ selectable launch RPM?

I guess technique wise, all I can really do is try and slow everything down.....slip the clutch more. I do have a 4 puck but it will definetly slip.

What tires do you have and what pressure are you running?
You may want to try a lower pressure. Since you can end up with better grip, you'll still need to do an agressive launch (the one that currently spins all four) but it shouldn't spin as much. If you are running a large turbo (like a 50 trim), you can't let the RPMs drop too much or you'll always bog.
I had a 50 trim with a sprung 6-puck. In the same night I bogged it severly, and also spun through the entirety of first gear, then bogged in second! I ran high traps with low ETs (13.3 at 105)
I should've tried either feathering the throttle some in first (hard to do in the heat of the moment) and going with less tire pressure.
Also, this is why I recommend against very light flywheels for dragging. It makes launching MUCH harder.
I've switched to a 2600 and a FP 2544 turbo this year... oh, and an extra 19% displacement. I need to tune the car and get out there quick!
