Just wondering what the thoughts were about this situation... I am not looking to be the best but maybe just get a few runs in down here in Utah... I have heard that a 1G is far worse then a 1G at SCCA but umm yea I am really tired so I think that I would leave it at that.... what kind of relatively good suspension would be best for the job and at a decent price???

SCCA what? Do you mean AutoX, RoadRacing, Rally...???
The answer to your question is that I can suggest a different suspension for each for a 1G and they can handle it just fine. Hell RRE races a 1G FWD Road style :)

Oh sorry I am tired. I was thinking about going road race type SCCA type thing. I have just heard that the weight distribution is shitty on a 1G but maybe not... any ideas on suspension? Umm I guess a suspension that would also be good for a somewhat drag/road race car...

Well, first you'll want to consult the info I wrote on suspension :) Then keeping that information in mind you'll ask yourself how much you really want to spend.
The way it breaks down is this... with a drag suspension you want semi-stiff up front and soft as hell in the rear...
For road racing it gets a great deal more complicated. With drag racing you can be happy with a 5 way adjustable shock/strut that only lets you adjust rebound dampening with compression dampening. With road racing you'll want to change it per track. Sometimes last track was bumpier or more uneven than this one and you find that your rebound dampening needs some major adjustment but your compression dampening is perfect or what have you... this is where KYB's and Tokiko's just don't cut it anymore. They're great for drag shocks or general tool around town shocks but they aren't that good for real road racing. The plus side is the real real expensive shocks work just peachy for drag racing, but seem to be a bit over kill...
Having said that... your entry level road racing shocks are JIC's... they seem to hold up great, and have good (15 adjustments) adjustments for compression and rebound dampening. They're in the $1200-$2000 range.
Now if you are really serious, you have two others you can go with. The setup is completely custom order only, and come with all kinds of options that make your car STICK to the pavement like a newborn to it's mommys tit...
Penske 3 way adjustable... These bad boys are just SICK. They offer Compression dampening adjustments (15) and a High and Low speed rebound dampening adjustment (15 each). With an option for a pillowball they really really help you get to that podium. These are right in the 2000-3000 range.
Moriss 2 way adjustable... These are what I have. They came with an option to invert all four shock/struts (like motorcycle forks and the shocks found on the EVO VIII). They offer independant compression and rebound dampening, pillowball mounts, custom tabs for custom sway bars and require the custom coilover system with eibach springs. They come in at about $750-900 a shock (depending on options) plus the coilovers which aren't that expensive ($300-600)...
If you really need some more in-depth help with choosing a setup I'd be glad to help.
