So where are all of the DSMs around Boulder? It seems like the DSM bug hasen't gotten around here. All I see are S4s and neons with coffee can mufflers.
I have seen a few sick ass 1Gs though, who are you guys? The nicest I've seen here is this black 1G with a honkin' front mount and an N1-like exhaust. Do any of you know this guy or are any of you him? I've seen him on marshall road and also on table mesa. His shit was parked somewhere off of 55th one night too. I saw him at a gas station once, but I didn't approach him because I was with a really wack kid and thought that that wouldn't be chill. Oh, the most distinctive thing on his ride is red letters on the bumper that read, "Got Boost?"; does that ring a bell for anyone? I think that is so cool. This thing looks really fast and I want to meet some people around Boulder with some quick DSMs. Theres also a shinny red 1G running around here too that I noticed by getting a BOV discharge right into my ear; it sounded like it was vented into the atmos. and it didn't stutter or puff any smoke on the shift, so this thing could be pretty modified. That makes me really want a GM MAF so I can so that too, my stocker is probably overrun anyway.
Anyone in the area should post and tell me about your rides.

I'm in Boulder in the summers. I go to school in CA during the rest of the year.
I've only seen a few modded DSM's in Boulder. I remember seeing a dark 1g (I can't remember the color) with CODSM stickers on it.
Anyway, maybe we'll meet up this summer. What do you have done to yours?

Wow, 12's at this altitude in a galant! Damn. That's so chill, especially running around w/ ski racks. My uncle has troubles breaking the 13's in his modified 7.4L '73 corvette! If you know Todd with the black viper at bandamire that has nitrous/propane injection, you probably know my uncle. He runs low 12's on his RT-10 W/O nitrous........ Oh, and if you guys ever pull up next to a kid that looks like he's 10 in a 3K VR-4 w/ an ATR catback, please show him that his car is not that fast.

Have none of you seen this shiny black 1G with the gigantic FMIC and the red letters "Got Boost?" on the back? I saw it parked off of 55th once, around Shoup street. The only times I've seen him moving he's been hauling ass, and with the front mount I assume he's pretty serious. I wish I could find these people.
Just curious, what kind of crap did you have to go through to run 12's on your vr4, chris? I love cars that are quick that don't look like it, a heavily modded gvr4 being a prime example.

Hey chris, I'm only a teen, but I live in Boulder and don't do shit. All I do on my free time is come here and to Buschur's forums; I wish I actually had real experience with these machines. My Bro is an apprentice/bitch for this scientist guy in Longmont. He has access to a CNC machine and I think also a mandral bender too. This guy owns a city block because of government funds and every lot has crazy machinery on it. If you ever need some help, you should get back to me.
Just curious, how old are you?

Dave- Damn I don't envy that at all :( Job hunting sucks. Luckily they seem to be happy with me here (Ball) and appear to be keeping me around at least another year. Hopefully within that year they'll bring me on with benefits.
KeltonDSMer,
I'm 21. I've got a BS in mechanical engineering from CU and going for my masters also in Mechanical engineering. I work at Ball pretty much full time. That black 1g with the large front mount has a 50trim I believe. He's on CoDSM but hangs pretty low. That car pulls really well though but I don't think it's been to the track yet, which is always the real test. I appreciate the offer of facilities but I mostly need time. Between working full time and grad school plus the lack of a garage I don't get parts installed fast. But I figure a 6 month layoff until next season will be enough time. :D

This sounds like my car but it's a darker Silver color not Black I do have a BIG FMIC, N1 exhaust and I have Got Boost in Red on my back bumper and Im the only one that I know of that Actually drives there 400hp DSM DAILY and my friend works at that gas station I was at so I stop by there sometimes. I haven't seen a cleaner 1G then mine running around the boulder area but would love to find one to play with or any fast car for that matter (S4s dont count) I haven't seen a car on the road around here that can touch me (ran 12.4 a few weeks ago) where are all the fast cars at in the Boulder area?

Keith,
Now you know for certain you aren't the *only*one...What do you call my daily driver? Shit, you have 2 other backup cars as well. I have zero backups so mine is an everyday driver :D Well that and my bicycle  Plus I always get my gas at your friends station there since I live pretty close to there.
When are you gonna throw the new manifold on there? My head leaves for Forrester this week...

Where are you getting 400hp from? Silver and black have a huge difference.

Yeah Chris but your car isn't running right now is it? And I was hoping to find a few other fast 2 door sports cars around, not that your 4door ain't bad ass it would just be nice to see some fast sports cars around the Boulder area. If we count all the 4doors I guess there is a few, You, Carl and Erik.

Well unless there is someone copying my car I havent seen another one exactly like mine in Black. And im just guessing on that 400hp but It should easilly be pushing at least that to the flywheel if not more based on my trap speeds and quarter mile times. Why dont we meet up some weekand and go cruising Dave and you can see for yourself.

Why not take it down to Mac Autosport and find out a real HP number. And not one at the crank either :D

Nope Keith. My car is running just fine. It's sitting outside of work right now last I checked :) All my work is being done off the car ie. spare head, spare block, pile of parts on the floor, etc. But I'm driving it everyday. Erik's car is in the garage at the moment but Carl's is running well too.
And there is a fast black 1g running around Boulder with a 50 trim and large FMIC. I used to see him once every couple weeks when I lived up in north Boulder last year. Name escapes me still but I'll think of it. Carl got to play with him a little and talk to him. Nice car from what Carl said.

Sounds like a plan but your talking about doing it next spring that's a ways away. I would love to do it sometime before then and next spring. As im planning a few more mods by then,
Either way I'll be there, aint MAC up in Parker I have seen some pictures and it looks like a very nice facility :D

Well shit, we should meet up this weekand and go for a little mountain run. Yeah I know of that Black 1G he lives in Broomfield his name is Micheal, I didin't realize he had the same exhaust and "Got Boost" sticker on his back bumper as me? I havent seen his car in quite a while but I have talked to him he used to hang out with Scott S. who lived by me but he parted out his car. Will have to get a Northern Colorado cruise together sometime so we can get all these cars in one place.

Im 24 and your way ahead of me I only have my Associates and I have to go to school for at least another 2yrs if not more to get my BS and I haven't even done that yet im to busy working how did you do it so fast?

We should, it would be lots of fun and a great picture op.

Erron, you're a nut. :D
As much as I love turns, I don't pretend to think that my car's particularly fast in the twisties. My stock 2G probably handles better than my GVR4, despite the handling mods I've done to it...
As for the car being in the garage...ummm, I'm trying to keep the mileage down to preserve the value of the car. :D Yeah, that's it.
Carl's car is a complete sleeper--you could drive right by him and not even notice the car! So if you see a white GVR4 with a baby seat in the back, you might want to think twice about picking a race unless you run mid-12's too.

Geeez what do you want a life story?:D :D :D Well I was bored with high school and never went my Junior year (45 days absent) so I just graduated early and came out here from St. Louis, Missouri to CU-Boulder. I was 17 when I started and did my BS in 4 years working the last 3 of 4 years between 20-40 hours a week between 1 and/or 2 jobs. I played around with my sportbike and then finally got a GVR4 when I decided to pay the outragous amount they get for my insurance a year and a half ago. Always wanted a highly modded DSM but my parents wouldn't let me have one when I lived at home, probably smart on their part. So now I have a modded GVR4 and a long way to go to be truely "fast". But i'm pretty happy with 12s after only 1.5 years of ownership. It's a perfect car for me: Quick, sleeper, and hauls my bikes (mtn and road) and stuff around.
And I would like to go explore the mountain roads anytime I'm free. My car doesn't handle all that well but I still will throw it around the best it'll do. Plus taking mountain pictures is fun!

I drive a green 1g around with a big front mount, if you ever see me don't hesitate to stop and talk :)

^^ That's me, say something if you see it.
I saw that black 1g on arapahoe getting off 55th last year, but thats the only time I have seen it.
I actually live a few minutes away from there around the flatirons acura/subaru.
