    Baer Brakes Finally On!!

So after... well... YEARS, I finally decided to bust out the kit I purchased from Marcus and give it some use instead of holding down a box on the shelf. They were in rough condition to start but not so far gone that they weren't worth the effort. Here is what they started out as...

After some serious time with scotch brite pads, brake cleaner, a good turning and some rotor paint they were looking better already!

Next job was the calipers themselves as they were pretty nasty. They cleaned up fairly nice with some elbow grease but I caved in and decided to powder coat them. This was the best choice anyway because the powder coater baked them and dunk tanked them getting all old brake fluid and who knows what out.

After a quick rebuild they were shaping up nicely!!

A few calls into Baer (which was a NIGHTMARE cause it took them 2 weeks to get me a parts list which ended up being a PDF file of the install instructions and me telling them what I thought I was missing...) They bolted on smoothly!!

So far I have only put 100 miles on them no super hard braking yet but I can already tell these are a HUGE upgrade compared to the stock front disc setup. Just had to share my little project since a few people on this forum played a part in them!

That does look good. Do you have tennis elbow from all the scotch brite padding-manship?

Haha, I was single for a while so it didn't seem much out of the ordinary work i put in every night... Jk. All I can say is thank god for angle die grinders!! They took off the surface rust and discoloring quickly and didn't over work the forearms.
